Well beyond 14 days after the tragic deaths of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community persist in remembering the duo.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt prepared to express about his profound loss.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can finally put my grief into words," shared Elwes, noting that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the film, adding that he could not remember "one day without mirth".

"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a different tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the lead role.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld

This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the LAPD.

A court order issued a security hold on the cases to limit the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the probe.

The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a public database citing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Fallout and Commentary

After the deaths, public personalities expressed divergent comments.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, offering divisive statements that were met with immediate backlash by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his perspective to the those speaking out recently. Talking on his show, Rogan described the remarks as "disturbing" and suggested they revealed a worrisome lack of empathy.

Rogan concluded by proposing that an associate should have stepped in when the decision to comment on the passing was made.
